STUDIES OF INHIBITORY SUBSTANCE ON LIPOLYTIC FACTOR FROM ASCITES FLUID OF PATIENTS WITH HEPATOMA

Abstract

|
A lipolytic factor in cancerous asales fluid ehcated fatty add release from rat epKhdymal adipose tissue in vitro. In this present study, it was attempted to find the inhibitory substance from red ginseng powder on bpolytic factor in asates fluid of patients with h%mtoma. Gffiseng t MA saponin, protopanaxc diol and -bid saponin inhibited ACTH-induced hpoly ls, but advated *)Iysis irrduoed by hpolytic factor. The inhibitory substance of bpolytic factor was found in saponin free ad-act of ginseng. The inhibitory substance t ly inhibited lipolysis induced by hpolytic factor, but did not aunt any action on ACTH-induced hpolysis.
From the above results, it was suggested that a&wiist ation of ginseng (saponin free extract) to cancer patients might tinprove anorexia and protect loss of body weight by inhibiting the actions of hpolytic factor secreted from tumor tissue.
